Job description

Tower Trading(Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (“Tower Shanghai”), a subsidiary of the New York-basedglobal quantitative hedge fund Tower Research Capital LLC (“Tower”), seeks a DatacenterTechnician in Shanghai. He or she will work with members of the Systems Team inNew York and Singapore and various external parties to maintain existingsystems, strategically plan for the growth of infrastructure, and proactivelyresearch and implement new products.

Responsibilities

·        Work with brokers and exchanges to gather networking and systemsrequirements

·        Rack network and server equipment in a datacenter

·        Work autonomously to troubleshoot server and network issues

·        Coordinate with Systems Team to manage shipments, equipment orders, andconnections at our global data center locations. This includes frequentcommunication with telecommunications providers and equipment vendors regardingorder statuses, returns, and support.

·        Resolve hardware, software, and service issues for desktop support

·        Repair and upgrade hardware, including desktops, phones, laptops,printers, and scanners

·        Create and maintain documentation of all technology and processes

·        Keep data centers and shared spaces clean and organized

·        Monitor and report on technical project progress and track projectdeliverables

·        Travel domestically within China and throughout APAC region, when required

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

Qualifications

·        Strong communication skills and fluency in English (required)

·        An understanding of data center management and layout (power, cooling,cabling)

·        An understanding of networking and systems concepts (circuits, IP routing,consoles)

·        Working knowledge of Linux (Red Hat preferred)

·        Experience wiring and making patch cables (cat5e)

·        Basic knowledge of Cisco (preferred)

·        Experience working with fiber optic cables, including the inspecting,cleaning, and testing of these cables (preferred)

·        Experience working for a Chinese exchange, financial firm, or subsidiaryof an international technology firm (preferred)

Candidates Should Also Be

·        Self-motivated

·        Able to work flexible hours, when required (including late nights andweekends in order to access datacenters and coordinate with Systems team)

·        Highly analytical with strong attention to detail

·        Able to travel domestically (including Hong Kong). Ability to travelinternationally preferred

·        Passionate about technology

·        Able to lift 40 pounds

Tower Research Capital LLC, ahigh-frequency proprietary trading firm founded in 1998, seeks a smart &independent Helpdesk Support Technician for it's Shanghai office.In this role,you will support day-to-day operations and resolve hardware issues.

Responsibilities

? Resolving trouble tickets for Linux andWindows users

? Deploying Windows and Linux desktops

? Creating and maintaining user accounts

? Repairing and upgrading hardware includingdesktops, servers, laptops, printers,

and scanners

? Racking and stacking servers

? Researching materials for orders throughvendors

? Providing front-line user support withminimal supervision

? Managing and maintaining onsite inventory

Qualifications

You should be motivated to find the bestsolutions to problems of all sizes, whether they require visiting data centersor crawling under desks. Our ideal candidate will have:

? A solid knowledge of PC hardware andcomputer internals

? Prior desktop support experience

? The ability to analyze, troubleshoot, andresolve hardware failures

? Experience in relevant Microsofttechnologies, including Active Directory, Outlook,

Office 2010/2013, SharePoint, and remotesupport tools

? A working knowledge of Linux command-line(preferred)

? The ability to work well as part of ateam that supports production, back

office computing, and end-user supportfunctions

? The aptitude to maintain a personable andprofessional relationship in all user

interactions (walk-ups, inquiries,desk-side visits, and status calls)

? High energy and the drive to meet theneeds of a demanding environment

? Strong organizational skills andmeticulous attention to detail

? An educational background in computerscience or IT (preferred)
